WHEREAS, on July 25, 2006, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
passed Resolution No. 06-024 awarding a contract in the amount of $1,500,000 to
Laughlin-Thyssen, Ltd., Houston, Texas, for the Wiess Bluff Pump Station Neches River
Bank Stabilization Project; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 is required to increase the stabilization scope of
work by sixty linear feet to the North and by twenty linear feet to the South. The changes
include clearing and grubbing, installation of geotextile fabric and the placement of
concrete rip rap thereby increasing the contract amount by $141,047 for a total contract
amount of$1,058,047.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1
increasing the contract amount by$141,047 for a total amount of$1,058,047 for the Wiess
Bluff Pump Station Neches River Bank Stabilization Project.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 5th day of
