HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 06-327 RESOLUTION NO. 06-327 WHEREAS, on September 12, 2006, the City Council passed Resolution NO. 06- 266 authorizing the City Manager to apply for and receive funding in the amount of $217,819.43 through the Department of Homeland Security Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP) to enhance capabilities of law enforcement agencies to prevent terrorism; and, WHEREAS, an additional $90,169.02 is available to the City through the State Homeland Security Program resulting in a total grant amount of$307,988.45 through the U. S. Department of Homeland Security Home Grant Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the necessary documents to receive the total grant proceeds in the amount of $307,988.45 as a sub-recipient of grant funds from the Homeland Security Home Grant Program. BE IT ALSO RESOLVED THAT the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a memorandum of election regarding state use of Homeland Security grant funding for statewide local protection on behalf of the City of Beaumont for the implementation of statewide interoperability with Regional Emergency Exercises, Texas Data Exchange system (TDEx) implementation and Live-Scan implementation.
