BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
WHEREAS,the Trustees of the Beaumont Independent School District have passed
an ordinance mandating that an election for school board trustees be held on May 13,
2006; and,
WHEREAS,the Beaumont Independent School District has requested the City Clerk
of the City of Beaumont, Texas conduct said election; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson County, Texas has voting equipment which is available for
use in conducting said election but is unwilling to release said equipment without the
execution of an interlocal agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager of the City of Beaumont, Texas is hereby authorized to execute an
Interlocal Agreement between Jefferson County, Texas and the City of Beaumont, Texas
to facilitate the use of voting equipment for the election of trustees for the Beaumont
Independent School District to be held on May 13, 2006.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 2nd day of May,
2006.
