WHEREAS, Resolution 06-064 authorized the City Manager to apply for funding
through the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount of$75,724;
and
WHEREAS, the intent was to request authorization to apply for grant funding in the
amount of$102,130 through the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, authorization is necessary to not only execute an interlocal agreement
with Jefferson County for the reallocation, but also with the City of Port Arthur. The
reallocation to Jefferson County should be in the amount of$15,320 and the reallocation
to the City of Port Arthur in the amount of$22,445; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Resolution 06-064 to reflect the requested
changes in funding application and reallocation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT Resolution 06-064 be amended to authorize the City Manager to apply for and
receive funding in the amount of$102,130 through the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance
Grant Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute interlocal agreements with Jefferson County, Texas, and the City of
Port Arthur, Texas, in order to reallocate Justice Assistance Grant funds to Jefferson
County in the amount of$15,320 and to the City of Port Arthur, Texas, in the amount of
$22,445.
