WHEREAS, the ravages of Hurricane Rita damaged three (3) pumps, two (2) of
which supplied water to the Water Production Plant for treatment and one (1) pumps
treated water into the City's water supply; and
WHEREAS, the repair of these pumps was critical to meeting the water demand in
view of the emergency conditions existing after the storm; and
WHEREAS, the prevailing emergency made it necessary to procure the services of
Reynolds Company of Houston to repair the pumps;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to approve payment of an invoice
in the amount of $32,644.83 to the Reynolds Company, Houston, Texas, for repairs
performed at the Water Production Plant and Lawson's Crossing Pump Station subsequent
to Hurricane Rita.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 13th day of
December, 2005.
