ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26,
SECTION 26-24, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT TO MODIFY THE EFFECTIVE TIMES
AND ZONE LIMITS OF SCHOOL ZONES ADJACENT TO
OZEN AND CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOLS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 26, Section 26-24 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont
be and the same is hereby amended as follows:
DELETE SCHEDULE C AND REPLACE AS FOLLOWS:
In accordance with this section and when signs are erected giving notice thereof,the prima
facie speed limit shall be twenty (20) miles per hour in the following zones between the
hours of 6:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday on
schooldays:

Fannett Road (SH 124) N & S From a point 650 feet west of the
centerline of Westmoreland Street to a
point 250 feet east of the centerline of
Fifth Street.
Fourth Street N & S From a point 100 feet north of the
centerline of Southerland Street to a point
90 feet south the centerline of Glenwood
Avenue.
Jaguar Street N &S From the centerline of South Street to the
centerline of Smart Street.
South Street E & W From a point 250 feet west of the
centerline of Oxford Street to a point 300
feet east of the centerline of Jaguar
Street.
DELETE SCHEDULE F
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should, for any reason,
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance,
and, to such end, the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the
extent of the conflict only.
Section 4.
That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,
be punished, as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
