WHEREAS, the claims of George Smith in the lawsuit styled Penni Simonson, et
al v. The City of Beaumont, were discussed in an Executive Session properly called and
held Tuesday, February 22, 2005; and,
WHEREAS,the Council desires to authorize the settlement of the claims of George
Smith in the lawsuit styled Penni Simonson, et al v. The City of Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to settle the claims of George
Smith in the lawsuit styled Penni Simonson, et al v. The City of Beaumont for the sum
of$215,000.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 1st day of
March, 2005.
