The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilwoman McGinnis . -000- Mayor Meyers welcomed 3rd grade students from Ogden Elementary School to today 's meeting. -000- Mayor Meyers issued the following proclamations : "Beta Sigma Phi Day in Beaumont" - April 25, 1979; "Days of Remembrance of Day of Holocaust in Beaumont" - April 28 and 29, 1979; and "Clean Air Week in Beaumont" - April 20 - May 6, 1979. _000- The Minutes of the regular City Council session held April 17 , 1979, were approved on a motion made by Councilman Combs and seconded by Coun- cilwoman McGinnis. Question : Ups Al ' Cayes - None -coo­ -65- April 24 , 1979 Resolution 79-164 accepting the bid of Liberty Industrial for the construc- tion of the Library supplementary parking lot (old City Hall Annex site) at a cost of $11,470. 17 was approved on a motion made by Councilman Combs and seconded by Councilwoman McGinnis . Question : Ayes : All Nayes : None -000- Ordinance No. 79-33 setting May 1 , 1979, as the date for a public hearing on the new rate schedule proposed by Entex, Inc . , suspending the rate schedule for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days from May 12 to September 9, 1979, and authorizing the employment of consultants , Touche Ross , to study the proposed rate schedule , was considered : ORDINANCE NO. 79-33 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE SUSPENDING THE OPERATION OF PROPOSED RATE SCHEDULES OF ENTEX, INC. ; CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON; AUTHORIZING EMPLOYMENT AND PAYMENT OF CONSULTANTS ; ASSESSING THE EXPENSES OF THIS PROCEEDING AGAINST ENTEX, INC. ; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY. The ordinance was approved on a motion made by Councilwoman McGinnis and seconded by Councilman Combs . Re-inspection of these proper"ies have revealed non-compliance with the Council ' s orders. Fontenot call a commercial car- rier to remove the trash and clebris from the pr,operty , lie also requested the item be placed on next Due,9day ' s agenda for action by Council , Coun- cilman Combs and Councilwoman McGin-nIS C­D!Icurred with the Mayor ' s sug- gestions .
