CITY COUNCIL - CITY OF BEAUMONT
HELD OCTOBER 17 , 1978
BE IT REMEMBERED that the City Clerk of the City of Beaumont , Texas , met
in regular session this the 17th day of October, 1978 , with the follow-
ing present :

The Invocation was given by the Reverend Stephen Sampson, Charisma
Christian Center.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Combs.

Mayor Pro Tem McGinnis issued the following proclamation : "National
Business Women ' s Week in Beaumont" October 15-21 , 1978 .

The Minutes of the regular session of the City Council held October 10,
1978, were approved on a motion made by Councilman Combs and seconded
by Councilman Evans.
Question : Ayes: All Nayes: None

Resolution 78-346 authorizing release of $455 , 000 in U. S. Treasury Notes
pledged as security against City deposits in its depository bank (Ameri-
can National Bank) was approved on a motion made by Councilman Evans and
seconded by Councilman Combs.

Resolution 78!347 authorizing a Change Order in the amount of $15, 000 to
the contract with E. R. Dupuis for the Opal Assessment Paving Project
(71-77-012) to add a small portion of Rena Street from the east line of
Bob Street to the east line of Lot 10, Block 3 , Mildred Addition , was
approved on a motion made by Councilwoman McGinnis and seconded by Coun-
cilman Williams.

Resolution 78-348 authorizing the purchase of Lot 1 , Block 41 , Arlington
Addition from Mrs. Dora Katherine Palumbo for $13 , 800 for the Irving Street
Underpass Project was approved on a motion made by Councilman Evans and
seconded by Councilman Combs .

Resolution 78-349 rejecting a bid received for reroofing Central Fire
Station was approved on a motion made by Councilwoman McGinnis and se-
conded by Councilman Evans.
