SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. -82- May 25, 1976 The ordinance was approved on a motion made by Councilman Wiiliamzs a se by Councilman Cash. nd � conded Question: Ayes: All Nayes : None Mr. Jack Parfait, 8270 Walker Road, asked for additional street IJ-Lghts, amore speed limit signs, and the ditches be cleaned of trees, etc. -Z)00- Ordinance 76-66 authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with "the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission for receipt of Sectlon 112 funds provided through the Federal Aid-Highway Act of 1973, was considered: ORDINANCE NO. 76-66 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $22 ,000. 0c FROM THE GENERAL FUND; PROVIDING FOR REIMBURSE- MENT TO THE GENERAL FUND FROM SECTION 112 FUNDS PROVIDED THROUGH THE FEDERAL-AID HIGHWAY ACT OF 1973; ESTABLISHING A PLANNER POSITION IN THE BUDGET FOR THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION DE- PARTMENT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT FOR SAID BONDS. The ordinance was approved on a motion made by Councilman Cash and seconded by Councilman Evans. Question: Ayes : All Nayes : None -000- Resolution 76-162 appointing Clarence Jackson as Chairman, Marilyn Adams as Vice-Chairman and J. F. Booker to serve a two-year term to the Corariunity De- velopment Advisory Committee was approved on a Motion made by Councilman Wil- liams and seconded by Councilman Cash. Question: Ayes: All Nayes: None -000- Councilman Cash asked for a report concerning consideration of the change to two-way traffic on the Freeway Frontage Road north of the LNVA Canal. Mr, Eddie Whitnell responded that he could not recommend the change for r�� safe-t a go and further said that the City has no authority over the Frontage Rcyad - tbnat responsibility lies with the State. Mr. L. P. Kinnear, 2395 Park, addressed Council to complain Of high eiec�A_ ! _ and gas rates.
