The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Evans. -000- The Minutes of the regular session held November 27, 1973 , were approved on a motion made by Councilman Cash and seconded by Councilman Evans. Question: Ayes : All Nayes : None -000- Permission to advertise for bids for furnishing one Van for the Fleet Mainten- ance Department to be used by the Police Public Service Unit was granted on a motion made by Councilman Evans and seconded by Councilman Cash. Question: Ayes: All Nayes: None -000- An Ordinance regarding Planning Division File 506-Z, to change the zoning of a 39. 615 acre tract out of Plat RS-4 , Tract 216 out of T. 39, W. B. Dyches Sur- vey from R-1 to R-2 was considered. ORDINANCE NO. 73-71 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, AND IN PARTICULAR THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ZONING DISTRICTS AS INDICATED UPON THE ZONING MAP OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY CHANGING THE CLASSIFICATION OF TWO (2) TRACTS OF LAND AS FOL- LOWS : TRACT NO. 1 CONTAINING 34. 75 ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, OUT OF THE W. B. DYCHES SURVEY IN BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, PRESENTLY ZONED "R-111 TO "R-2" ; TRACT NO. 2 CONTAINING 4. 862 ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS , OUT OF THE W. B. DYCHES SURVEY IN BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, PRE- SENTLY ZONED "R-l" TO "R-211 ; PROVIDING FOR SEVERA- BILITY; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. The ordinance was passed on a motion made by Councilman Cash 'and seconded by . Councilman Evans. Question: Ayes: All Nayes : None -000- The recommendation of the Planning & Zoning Commission regarding Planning Divi- sion File 508-Z, a request to change the zoning of Tracts 37 & 38, Plat SP-5, A. Savery Survey, consisting of 1. 57 acres, from R-1 to C-1 was considered. The request was denied on a motion made by Councilman Evans. Councilman Cash se- conded the motion and stated that those people handling the property did not care to have it zoned "R-211 . Question: Ayes : All Nayes: None -000- A resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a license agreement with Amoco Production Company to lay a 6" pipe line crossing Dowlen Road apprp?�i- mately 3, 750 feet south of Folsom Drive was approved on a motion made by Councilman Cash and seconded by Councilman Evans. Question: Ayes: All Nayes: None -000- A resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a deed conveying a certain tract out of the Shell Road Addition to John Campbell for the sum of $711. 00, which said property was acquired at a sheriff ' s sale for delinquent taxes was ap- proved on a motion made by Councilman Evans and . seconded by Councilman Cash. Question: Ayes: All Nayes: None -000- A resolution authorizing release of tax judgment against Ben Wallace, et al, in the sum of $169. 92 was approved on a motion made by Councilman Cash and seconded by Councilman Evans. Question: Ayes: All Nayes : None -000- A resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Crim- inal Justice Council for $63,305 for a Crime Prevention unit was approved on a motion made by Councilman Evans and seconded by Councilman Cash. Question: Ayes: All Nayes: None -000- Councilman Evans made a motion to reappoint the following members to the Library Commission: Mrs. Cleveland Nisby, Mrs. W. C. Tyrrell, Jr. , Dr. Brock Brent- linger, and Mr. Gerald Klein. Councilman Cash seconded the motion.
