WHEREAS, on October 28, 2003, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
awarded a contract to Brystar Contracting, Inc., in the amount of $4,224,066.30 for the
Delaware Street Extension project; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of$8,490 was required to install a
junction box on the existing 24-inch water pipe to eliminate lowering the existing water line
and to eliminate any disturbance in the water distribution system thereby increasing the
contract amount to $4,232,556.30; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 is necessary for the extra costs of sand bedding
material need to install a 36" transmission line;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Order No.
2 to the Delaware Street Extension project for the extra cost of the sand bedding material
needed to install the 36-inch transmission line in the amount of $42,406 increasing the
contract amount to $4,274,962.30.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 16th day of
November, 2004.
