WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") and
HUD's technical assistance provider have recommended that the City of Beaumont and
the City of Port Arthur adopt a uniform application process that will be operated by a single
non-profit organization; and,
WHEREAS, this uniform application process should establish program conformity,
eliminate duplication of efforts in the application and home buyer counseling processes,
and increase the applicant base of both cities; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the Home program
to implement a uniform application process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Council hereby adopts the changes in the HOME Program Homebuyer
Application process which provides for a uniform application process that will be operated
by a single non-profit organization.
