CITY COUNCIL- CITY OF BEAUMONT
HELD AUGUST 15, 1985, 12:00 NOON
BE IT REMEMBERED that the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
met in special session this the 15th day of August, 1985, with the
following present:
HONORABLE: William E. Neild Mayor
Joseph D. Deshotel Councilman at Large
G. Wayne Turner Councilman at Large
Nell Pruitt Weisbach Councilman, Ward I
David W. Moore Councilman, Ward IV
Absent: Mike Brumley Councilman, Ward II
Audwin Samuel Councilman, Ward III
Lane Nichols City Attorney

Mayor Neild called an Executive Session, pursuant to Section II of the
Texas Open Meetings Act, to discuss personnel matters.

The meeting reconvened at 2:05 p.m. with the following present:

Nell Pruitt Weisbach Councilman, Ward I
Audwin Samuel Councilman, Ward III
David W. Moore Councilman, Ward IV
Absent: Mike Brumley Councilman, Ward II

Councilman Deshotel made a motion, seconded by Councilman Moore, that
Fire Chief C. E. "Pete" Shelton be appointed Acting Interim City
Manager effective October 1, 1985.
Question: Ayes: All
Nayes: None

Mayor Neild made a motion, seconded by Councilman Turner, that we
execute an agreement with Karl Nollenberger for the period October 1,
1985 until December 31, 1985. The fee shall be at the rate of $6,000
per month. The . agreement will terminate should Mr. Nollenberger
accept other employment, or should the City employ a permanent City

Manager. During the term of the employment agreement, Mr.
Nollenberger shall provide full-time service to the City as a
consultant to the Council, Acting City Manager, and staff in the
transition period.
