WHEREAS, on August 19, 2003, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
awarded a contract to Allco, Inc., in the amount of$833,786 for the Barscreen Area and
Belt Press Conveyor Improvements Project; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of$163,626 is required to restore
the structural integrity of 1500 square feet of walls and ceiling surface area inside the wet
well of the main pump station at the Wastewater Treatment Plant by installing 4-inch thick
repair mortar and reinforcement, to install 80 mils of protective coating to the restored
surface area, and to provide diversion pumping during construction,thereby increasing the
contract amount to $997,412;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Order No.
1 to the Barscreen Area and Belt Press Conveyor Improvements Project in the amount of
$833,786 to restore the structural integrity of 1500 square feet of walls and ceiling surface
area inside the wet well of the main pump station at the Wastewater Treatment Plant by
installing 4-inch thick repair mortar and reinforcement, to install 80 mils of protective
coating to the restored surface area, and to provide diversion pumping during construction
increasing the contract amount to $997,412
