RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, on March 21, 1995, City Council awarded a contract to Excavators and
Constructors, Inc. for the construction of the Liberty/Laurel (Phase II) Project in the amount
of$5,541,628.82; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 is being requested to compensate the Contractor
for additional work due to changes in the scope of the work as follows:
1. Replacement of a 10" sanitary sewer main on Oxford Street. Identification
of an existing line conflicted with proposed construction, requiring installation
of a new line to maintain service.
2. Elimination of proposed 12"water main on Laurel between Fourth Street and
Third Street. Existing 12" water main determined to be in acceptable
condition.
3. Installation of a 15" storm sewer line on Fifth Street. Existing line that was
proposed for use, had collapsed. Installation of this line also necessitated
overlay of a portion of the street.
4. Replacement of an 18" storm sewer line on Sixth Street. Existing line that
was proposed for use, had collapsed.
5. Removal and replacement of approximately 51 feet of concrete paving on
Ewing Street. This portion of street had deteriorated to an unacceptable
condition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1,
as stated above, with Excavators and Constructors, Inc. in the amount of$42,391.60.
