WHEREAS, the Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners
(AMCC) holds an annual institute for the purpose of enhancing the educational
opportunities available to Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners throughout the
State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City fervently desires to host this Annual Institute and hereby gives
its enthusiastic endorsement and encourages the AMCC to select the City of Beaumont
as the site for the 1997 Institute;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City of Beaumont wishes to host the 1997 Annual Institute for Mayors,
Councilmembers and Commissioners and assures the AMCC that should the City of
Beaumont be selected it will pledge its full complement of resources thereby guaranteeing
a successful event.
