WHEREAS,the City of Beaumont shall confirm the Jefferson Theatre as the sponsor
for the application under the rules of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)
Statewide Transportation Enhancement (ISTEA) Program. The request is for TxDOT to
assist in the renovation of the Jefferson Theatre building's fire escapes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City hereby endorses the Jefferson Theatre's Tx-DOT ISTEA nomination for
their fire escape renovation project.
The City recommends this project for "enhancement funding" by the Texas
Department of Transportation and guarantees 20% of the funds.
