WHEREAS, the lawsuit of Pearl Randle Jacobs and Viola Knauth Cass vs.
City of Beaumont has been discussed in an Executive Session properly called and
held; and,
WHEREAS, the Council desires to authorize the settlement of the lawsuit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to settle the lawsuit of
Pearl Randle Jacobs and Viola Knauth Cass vs. City of Beaumont in the total
amount of Three Hundred Thirty Thousand Five Hundred 00/100 ($330,500.00)
Dollars, payable as follows:
To Plaintiff Pearl Randle Jacobs the amount of One Hundred Forty-one
Thousand Five Hundred 00/100 ($141,500.00) Dollars
To Plaintiff Viola Knauth Cass the amount of One Hundred Eighty-nine
Thousand 00/100 ($189,000.00) Dollars
