WHEREAS, on December 20, 1993, bids were received for the construction of
the Parks and Recreation Department's Magnolia Park Activity Center; and,
WHEREAS, Daniel's Building and Construction, Inc., of Kountze, Texas,
submitted a base bid of$2,263,900 plus Alternate 01101, Phase II Parking, in the amount of
$28,200 for a contract amount of $2,292,100; and
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Daniel's
Building and Construction, Inc., is the lowest and best bid meeting specifications and should
be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Daniel's Building and Construction, Inc., in the amount of
$2,263,900 plus Alternate 01101 for Phase II Parking in the amount of$28,200 for a contract
amount of $2,292,100 be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute a contract with Daniel's Building and Construction, Inc., in the amount
of $2,292,100 for the construction of the Magnolia Park Activity Center.
