WHEREAS,bids were received January 3, 1994 for Remediation and Drainage Improvements
at the Beaumont Fire Training Grounds; and,
WHEREAS, Affolter Contracting Co., Inc. submitted a base bid in the amount of
$980,681.70; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with paragraph 12 of the Instructions to Bidders the City desires
to delete a bid item in its entirety from the bid package; and,
WHEREAS, item 6C of the base bid involving the storage and disposal of contaminated
material for offsite disposal should, based on onsite testing done by the City, be deleted; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT in accordance with paragraph 12 of the Instructions to Bidders in the bid for the Remediation
and Drainage Improvements at the Beaumont Fire Training Grounds base bid item 6C be and the
same is hereby deleted and the bid for such work is hereby awarded to Affolter Contracting Co., Inc.
in the amount of$980,681.70;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute
the contract with Affolter in the amount of$980,681.70 for the base bid of Affolter less bid item 6C
for the Remediation and Drainage Improvements for the Fire Training Grounds.
