WHEREAS, City Council approved Resolution No. 91-270 on October 22, 1991 for
a two year curbside recycling program with Browning Ferris Industries (BFI) to provide
curbside collection of commingled recyclable materials throughout the City; and,
WHEREAS, the bid submitted by Browning Ferris Industries (BFI) in the amount
of $1.335 per month per active household for the initial two year contract provided an
optional third year at $1.41 per month per active household to provide curbside collection;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the one year extension to the
contract with Browning Ferris Industries is in the best interest of the City and should be
accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to approve a one year extension
to the contract with Browning Ferris Industries (BFI) in the amount of$1.41 per month per
active household to provide curbside collection of commingled recyclable materials
throughout the City.
