WHEREAS, recent State legislation requires municipalities to allow their
employees the right to purchase continued health coverage at retirement; and
WHEREAS, the City presently provides this benefit to Fire and Police retirees
under the Collective Bargaining Agreements with those entities; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to adopt consistent retiree health benefit rates for
all employees of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City be and it is hereby authorized to offer continued participation in the City's
medical insurance program to civilian retirees from and after January 1, 1994, at a rate as
established from time to time in the Labor Agreements for Police and Fire retirees.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the
