WHEREAS, on Monday, June 7, 1993, sealed bids were received for the purchase
of thirteen (13) suits of body armor for the Beaumont Police Department to be used by the
SWAT Division for personal protection; and,
WHEREAS, Sargent Sowell Co. submitted a bid in the amount of $1,442.10 each
totaling $18,747.30; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Sargent Sowell
Co. is the lowest and best bid meeting specifications and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Sargent Sowell Co. to purchase thirteen (13) suits of body armor
for the Beaumont Police Department to be used by the SWAT Division for personal
protection in the amount of$1,442.10 each for a total amount of$18,747.30 be accepted by
the City of Beaumont.
