RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Kenneth Ruddy and B. P. Crittenden, Jr., have requested the State
of Texas sell the excess right-of-way located at 1000 and 1140 IH-10 North, Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, between Doctor's Drive and Louisiana Street and attached hereto
as Exhibit "A"; and,
WHEREAS, the State has determined that the property is surplus to their needs;
and,
WHEREAS, the title to the property is in the name of the City of Beaumont and
the Texas Department of Transportation has requested that the City declare the property
no longer needed for the use of citizens as a road;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the excess right-of-way located at 1000 and 1140 IH-10 North, Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas,between Doctor's Drive and Louisiana Street is no longer needed for the use
of citizens as a road.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the

Control 28-13, Jefferson County
Dear Ms. Allen:
Messrs . Kenneth Ruddy and B.P. Crittenden, Jr . , have requested that
they be allowed to purchase the subject property. (See copies of
correspondence attached hereto) . We have determined that the
property located over 16 feet from the existing curb is surplus to
our needs.
Exhibit A indicates the surplus property that can be sold. We have
also determined that the title to the surplus property is in the
name of the City of Beaumont. (See Exhibit B, copy of Deed) .
If the City is in agreement with the proposed sale, please furnish
a Council Resolution stating that "the land is no longer needed for
the use of citizens as a road" . Since the title is in the City' s
name, please furnish a survey plat and legal description for the
subject property. The prospective purchasers have agreed to pay
the surveying and other associated costs. Upon receipt of the
Resolution and legal description, we will obtain a Minute Order
removing the property from the Interstate System. Then the City
will be free to negotiate the sale to Messrs. Ruddy and Crittenden.
