WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has been selected to receive a grant in the amount
of$400,000.00 from the Texas Water Commission to help implement a pollution prevention and
waste minimization program within the City; and,
WHEREAS, the intergovernmental agreement stipulates that the monies be used for
recycling purposes and that the City allow other municipalities who are interested in beginning
their recycling program the opportunity to view the City of Beaumont's recycling operations and
programs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into an intergovernmental
agreement with the Texas Water Commission and accept the grant award of $400,000.00.
