WHEREAS, on April 14, 1992, the City Council of the City of Beaumont awarded a
contract in the amount of $8,920,589.50 to Russ Miller Construction Company for the
Cartwright Drainage Project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contractor contacted the Solid Waste Department to determine if the
excavated material could be used at the landfill; and,
WHEREAS, Solid Waste indicated that the excavated material could be used as a final
cover for several sections at the landfill; and,
WHEREAS, the Contractor has agreed to deposit the material at the working face at a
cost of $1.64 per cubic yard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the City Manager, be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Order No. 1,
increasing the bid price in the amount$206,110,28, thereby increasing the total contract amount
to $9,126,699.78.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont on this the
