WHEREAS, bids were received for the purchase of
communication equipment for the Police Department. This equipment
consists of fifteen (15) mobile radios to be installed in patrol
cars and fifteen (15) portable radios to be issued to officers
needing replacement units with a one (1) year parts and labor
warranty on both; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
submitted by Coastal Radio and Radar, Inc. of Port Arthur, Texas
for fifteen (15) mobile radios in the amount of $10, 248. 00 and
United Communications, Inc. of Beaumont, Texas for fifteen (15)
portable radios in the amount of $7, 376. 40 are the lowest and best
bids meeting specifications and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the bids submitted by Coastal Radio and Radar, Inc. of Port
Arthur, Texas for fifteen (15) mobile radios in the amount of
$10, 248. 00 and United Communications, Inc. of Beaumont, Texas for
fifteen (15) portable radios in the amount of $7, 376.40 to be used
by the Police Department be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
