RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, on September 17, 1991, the City Council authorized the City Manager to
enter into a contract with E. R. Dupuis Concrete Company, Inc. in the amount of$125,212.20
for construction of the Crockett Street Parking Plaza; and,
WHEREAS, during the course of construction of this project unknown underground
obstructions in the form of building foundation walls and concrete-embedded trolley tracks have
been encountered in the area to be excavated; and,
WHEREAS, to remedy this existing condition, the contractor has submitted a price of
$10.00 per cubic yard for excavation for a total cost of $7,200.00. Two hundred (200) cubic
yards of backfill material will be required at $9.00 per cubic yard for a total cost of$1,800.00.
Total cost of excavation and backfill is $9,600.00. The engineering staff recommends that
water lines to service a future sprinkler system be installed during pavement construction.
Approximately 400 linear feet of 1" polypropylene pipe at $2.00 per linear foot will be
required. Total cost of water service lines is $800.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager, be, and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 in
the amount of $10,400.00 to reflect the revised scope of work for this project.
