HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 91-260 9/- 6, 0 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont has adopted the 1991 Community Development Block Grant Program; and, WHEREAS, the result under the current program planning process is that there are projects with merit and eligibility under Department of Housing and Urban Development Regulations that can not be funded or included in the 1991 Community Development Block Grant Program; and, WHEREAS, a multi-year Community Development Block Grant Program similar to the City of Beaumont's Capital Improvement Program, would be a more efficient way to operate the Community Development Block Grant Program thereby enabling the City Council to add projects to the program even though there may not currently be funding available for the project; and, WHEREAS, the Community Development staff is preparing a multi-year Community Development Block Grant Program that will give priority to revitalizing concentrated target areas in the North and South ends of Beaumont and the periphery of the downtown area as well as continue to respond to City wide funding requests; 9/ - ,�60 jam -9r NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to add the following projects, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", to the list of City Council approved projects to be included in the multi-year Community Development Grant program. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the day of 1991. - Mayor - EXHIBIT "A" The following is a list of recommended projects to be included in the Multi-year Community Development Block Grant Program. Said projects would become a part of the Community Development Block Grant Program but no funds can be expended on the individual projects until action is taken to amend the 1990 or 1991 Community Development Block Grants authorized by the Federal Housing and Urban Development Department. Recommended Projects Amount Recommended 1. Northridge-Manor-Housing-Gemplex - Drainage-f?roject $235;000 2. YMCA Affordable Housing Project - Renovation 350,000 3. Beaumont Community Foundation - Purchase & Renovation 100,000 4. Programs for Human Services - Renovation 18,500 5. Cardinal Day Care Center - Renovation 8,000 6. Main Street Project - Downtown Revitalization 25,000 7. Housing Authority of Beaumont - Reference Library 25,000 Total Additional Projects $761,500 EXHIBIT '!A"
