WHEREAS, on December 19, 1990, City Council awarded a contract to Norman
Materials, Inc. for construction of the Walden Road Concrete Pavement Project in the amount
of $628,889.50; and,
WHEREAS, during excavation of the existing asphalt roadway, the contractor has
encountered large amounts of cement stabilized sand which needs to be removed in order to
stabilize the subgrade below;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute Change Order No. 1, in
the amount of$24,375.00, to the contract between the City of Beaumont and Norman Materials,
Inc. for removal of large amounts of cement stabilized sand in order to stabilize the subgrade
below.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the c26zc day of
1991.
