WHEREAS, during the past eighteen (18) months several major commercial
developments have been proposed for the area annexed in 1989; and,
WHEREAS, change orders for Water and Sanitary Sewer Contracts III and IV are
proposed to reduce the size of the sewer force main. It has been determined that it would be
in the City's interest to reduce the size of the proposed force main from 16" to 12" at this time;
and,
WHEREAS, the City feels that a 12" force main at this time will be adequate to serve
the proposed State prison, the county jail and the existing development in the 1989 annexed
area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 for
Contract III decreasing the amount of the contract to $56,056.51, and Change Order No. 1 for
Contract IV decreasing the amount of the contract to $173,125.05.
