HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 91-022 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to apply for State Public Transportation Fund Discretionary Program money in the amount of $236,037.00. A copy of the project description and budget worksheet is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof for all purposes. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the ,2 day of , 1991. �. � . - Mayor - .2 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of Beaumont intends to use all Public Transportation Fund (PTF) money received to fund up to a 50% match of the local share of the FY 1991 Operating Expenses for the Beaumont Municipal Transit (BMT) System. In the initial application period for PTF Discretionary Program funding, the City of Beaumont applied for and received $76, 463 . Since 50% of the anticipated local match for Operating Expenses in FY 1991 will amount to $312 ,500 , there is still $236, 037 which is eligible for PTF funding. Therefore, in the second application period for remaining PTF Discretionary Program funding, the City of Beaumont wishes to apply for $236, 037 in additional money. The project period would be October 1 , 1990 through September 30 , 1991. Beaumont Muncipal Transit serves a population of 123 ,729 and operates within the City Limits of Beaumont. Ridership for FY 1990 totaled close to 1, 400 , 000 passengers representing an 18% increase over FY 1989. Ridership has continued to climb in FY 1991.
