RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, bids were received for the purchase of approximately 400 tons of
sodium carbonate (soda ash) for use by the Water Production Plant; and,
WHEREAS, Rhone-Poulenc Basic Chemicals Company of Houston, Texas
submitted a bid in the amount of $0.080515 per pound; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Rhone-
Poulenc Basic Chemicals Company is the lowest and best bid meeting specifications and should
be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the bid submitted by Rhone-Poulenc Basic Chemicals Company, of Houston, Texas to
furnish approximately 400 tons of sodium carbonate (soda ash) for use by the Water Production
Plant in the amount of $0.08355 per pound, be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the
day of 1990.
