WHEREAS, bids were received for the purchase of an educational
network personal computer system to implement an adult literacy
program through the Beaumont Public Library; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by International Business Machines of Beaumont for one
IBM 16 Mhz 80386SX PS/2 Model 65SX file server and four IBM 8 Mhz
8086 PS/2 Model 25 workstations; one IBM Classroom LAN
Administration System 1.2, one Novell Netware 2.15, one IBM Reading
for Meaning Level 1, one IBM Reading for Meaning Level 2, one IBM
Reading for Meaning Level 3, one IBM Reading for Meaning Level 4,
one IBM Primary Editor Plus, one IBM Touch Typing for Beginners and
one IBM Reading for information Level 2 software packages in the
amount of $16,837.00 is the best bid meeting specifications and
should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the bid submitted by International Business Machines of
Beaumont, Texas in the amount of $16,837.00 for one IBM 16 Mhz
80386SX PS/2 Model 65SX file server and four IBM 8 Mhz 8086 PS/2
Model 25 workstations; one IBM Classroom LAN Administration System
1.2; one Novell Netware 2.15; one IBM Reading for Meaning Level 1;
one IBM Reading for Meaning Level 2; one IBM Reading for Meaning
Level 3; one IBM Reading for Meaning Level 4; one IBM Primary
Editor Plus; one IBM Touch Typing for Beginner and one IBM Reading
for Information Level 2 software packages to be used by the
Beaumont Public Library for an adult literacy program, be accepted
by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont on
