R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, authorization is requested by the Central
Services/Purchasing Department to purchase one (1) 16 MB Main
Storage in the amount of $18, 000.00, one (1) 8 MB Main Storage unit
in the amount of $9, 000. 00, one (1) two line communication
subsystem in the amount of $4, 650. 00 and one (1) 850 MB Disk
Storage unit in the amount of $13, 675. 00 from IBM Corporation of
Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, IBM Corporation of Beaumont, Texas submitted a
price in the amount of $45, 307. 00, which is exempt under state law
from bidding requirements because it is an equipment component that
is available from only one source;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the request for authorization to purchase one (1) 16 MB Main
Storage in the amount of $18, 000. 00, one (1) 8 MB Main Storage unit
in the amount of $9, 000. 00, one (1) two line communication
subsystem in the amount of $4, 650.00 and one (1) 850 MB Disk
Storage unit in the amount of $13,675. 00 from IBM Corporation of
Beaumont be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
