WHEREAS, the Beaumont Housing Authority has applied to the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development for a$7,800,000 grant for the Disposition of Neches
Park Homes; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont has endorsed this
application and pledge support to the project for the relocation of-150 dwelling units in
the Neches Park Homes public housing project; and,
WHEREAS, the City has been asked to participate by financing the acquisition
of sites for the relocation, and relocation assistance for tenants;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Council, hereby agrees to allocate funds for the purchase of sites for
the relocation of Neches Park Homes for an amount not to exceed $385,000 and to
provide relocation assistance for Neches Park Homes tenants for a total amount not to
exceed $100,000.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the day
of 1990.
