HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 90-126 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on August 9, 1988, the City of Beaumont accepted the bid of Transportation Manufacturing Corporation for the purchase of eleven (11) new advanced design transit buses with an option to purchase five (5) additional buses within 540 days after execution of the contract documents; and, WHEREAS, on December 19, 1989, City Council authorized the City Manager to make application with the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for a $200,000 grant under the Local Match for Transit Providers Program which was approved in January, 1990, for 20% of the purchase cost of the buses; and WHEREAS, in January, 1990, the City applied for funding as part of its operating and capital assistance grant with the Urban Mass Transit Administration which was approved in March, 1990, for 80% of the purchase cost of the buses; and WHEREAS, on May 30, 1990,Transportation Manufacturing Corporation provided a revised price for the purchase of five (5) additional buses based on the escalation clauses outlined in the original bid specifications,wheelchair lifts, and a cost for meeting the EPA 1991 Clean Air Standards in the amount of $196,000 each or a total of $980,000; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to award the contract for five (5) additional buses to Transportation Manufacturing Corporation in the amount of$196,000 each or $980,000.
