WHEREAS, bids were received for an annual contract to
purchase various sizes of corrugated polyethylene pipe and
couplings to be used by the Public Works Department/Street Drainage
Division; and,
WHEREAS, Hancor, Inc. , of Yoakum, Texas submitted unit
price bids totaling $16,556. 00 less a 2 per cent discount for
prompt payment, on furnishing corrugated polyethylene pipe and
couplings; and,
WHEREAS, Coburn Supply Company of Beaumont, Texas
submitted unit price bids totaling $30, 673.25, less a 2 per cent
discount for prompt payment on furnishing smooth interior
corrugated pipe and couplings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
submitted by Hancor, Inc. of Yoakum, Texas and Coburn Supply
Company of Beaumont, Texas are the lowest and best bids meeting
specifications and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That annual contracts for supplying corrugated polyethylene pipe
and couplings be awarded Hancor, Inc. , at the unit prices listed
under Section A of the attachment, designated as Exhibit "A" and
to Coburn Supply Company at the unit prices listed under Section
B of Exhibit "A" .
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
