WHEREAS, on November 6, 1989, bids were received for an
annual contract to furnish sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide
for use by the Water Utilities/Water Production Plant; and,
WHEREAS, Rhone Poulenc Basic Chemicals Co. of Houston,
Texas, submitted the following bid:
Approximate Annual Usage 800,000 lb.
Sodium Carbonate (Unit Price) $.08355/lb.
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted above is the best bid submitted and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted above in the amount listed be accepted by
the City of Beaumont for an annual contract for Sodium Carbonate
for use by the Water Utilities/Water Production Plant.
