WHEREAS, on August 15, 1989, City Council awarded a
contract to A-Way Tank Service, Inc. in the amount of $27,990.00
for cleaning and repainting of an elevated water storage tank
located near the intersection of Washington Blvd. and Municipal
Drive; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $9,400.00
was requested for a second coat of paint and minor repairs to a
deteriorated vent on top of the tank and the lower brackets on an
overflow pipe were rewelded where the welds had broken increasing
the contract amount of $37,390.00; and,
WHEREAS, the project has been completed by the
Contractor and inspected by city staff and is in conformance with
the plans and specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to accept
the project and make final payment to A-Way Tank: Services, Inc.
in the amount of $37,390.00 for the cleaning and repainting of an
elevated water storage tank located near the intersection of
Washington Blvd. and Municipal Drive.
