R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont
wishes to recognize "Main Street on the Neches' as a community
festival to be staged September 15-17, 1989, by volunteers, with
assistance in the form of staff support and coordination by the
City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, Main Street on the Neches will consist of an
Ethnic Heritage Festival, a Music Festival, Main Street Alive and
United States Formula I Power Boat Races on the Neches River;
and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to participate in the
festival and assist in the production of festival events;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT a budget of approximately Two Hundred Thousand Dollars
( $200,000.00 ) is hereby established for "Main Street on the
Neches" with the expectation that donations, sponsorships and
receipts from festival events will be sufficient to provide for
the payment of such expenditures.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
the 3rd day of July , 1989.
