WHEREAS, the Brakes Bayou Bridge will be closed for
repairs for a period of five (5) days; and,
WHEREAS, this bridge provides the only public access to
the City' s Fire Training Grounds and the Beaumont Yacht Club;
and,
WHEREAS, Bethlehem Steel has a bridge through their
yard which can serve as a detour during the repair work; and,
WHEREAS, Bethlehem Steel has been contacted and has
agreed to allow the City to use their bridge at no charge during
the repairs but that an agreement be signed to indemnify and hold
harmless Bethlehem from any suit or claim which arises from the
City' s use of the bridge and roadway;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
all of the necessary documents with Bethlehem Steel for the
temporary use of their bridge.
