WHEREAS, on September 12, 1988, bids were received for
an annual contract for the purchase of sodium carbonate for use
by the Water Production Plant; and,
WHEREAS, Van, Waters, and Rogers, Inc. of Beaumont
submitted a bid in the amount of $0.825 per pound. for an
approximate annual expenditure of $66 ,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bid submitted by Van, Waters, and Rogers, Inc. is the best and
lowest bid and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Van, Waters, and Rogers, Inc. in the
amount of $0.825 per pound for an annual contract for the
purchase of sodium carbonate for use by the Water Production
Plant be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
