WHEREAS, the City Council desires to hold a public
hearing to consider a property tax increase to fund a street
rehabilitation and/or other capital improvements program for the
fiscal year commencing October 1 , 1988, and ending September 30,
1989; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing is required if the tax rate
is to be increased above Fifty-Four Cents ($0 . 54) per One Hundred
Dollar ($100 .00 ) valuation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide herein a
notice of such public hearing as provided by State law, at which
time the proposed increase of Three Cents ($0 .03 ) per One Hundred
Dollar ( $100.00 ) valuation in the tax rate for the specific
purposes outlined herein would be subject to public comment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT a public hearing be, and the same is, hereby established for
5:30 o'clock p.m. on the 22nd day of September, 1988, at which
time the single subject of whether taxes should be increased
above the Fifty-Four Cents ($0.54) per One Hundred Dollar
( $100.00) valuation level by Three Cents ( $0.03 ) per One Hundred
Dollar valuation for the purpose of funding a street
rehabilitation program will be discussed.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
