WHEREAS on June 7, 1988, a contract was executed with
Perkins Roofing Co. , Inc. , for roof repairs to City Hall in the
amount of $16, 971 .00 to be completed in seven (7) working days;
and,
WHEREAS, on August 13 , 1988, the City Manager
authorized Change Order No. 1 increasing the contract amount by
$1 ,070 .00 making the new contract amount $18 ,041 .00 and adding
one (1 ) day to the working days; and,
WHEREAS, construction is now complete at a final
estimate of $18, 041 . 00 ; and,
WHEREAS, the contractor overran the working days by two
(2) days and was assessed liquidated damages of $500. 00 making
the final construction costs, less liquidated damages,
$17 ,541 . 00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to make
final payment to Perkins Roofing Co. , Inc. , in the amount of
$17 ,541 .00 for roof repairs to City Hall.
