HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 88-188 x AGENDA R7EK R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Jefferson County has recommended and approved the sale of the property described as Lot 35 and S. 190.91 ' of Lot 26 , Beaumont Improvement Company Subdivision, to Mary Slaughter for the amount of Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000 ) ; and WHEREAS, because such property is being held in trust by Jefferson County for the City of Beaumont and the Beaumont Independent School District, it is necessary for all three entities to execute a deed to such property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT Maurice Meyers, Mayor, be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a Deed Without Warranty to Mary Slaughter transferring the interest that the City of Beaumont may have in the property described as Lot 35 and S. 190.91 ' of Lot 26 , Beaumont Improvement Company Subdivision. P. LEBLANC, JR. , County Judge, acting pursuant to an Order of the Commissioners Court of Jefferson County, Texas, duly entered of record in the Minutes of the Commissioners Court of Jefferson County; THE STATE OF TEXAS, having acquired title by virtue of a Tax Judgment, No. E-107,686, and styled State of Texas Vs. Sam Gambini, et al and dated May 16, 1985; said land having been put up for sale in accordance with the law of Texas, and said land being purchased by THE STATE OF TEXAS, through its agent, JEFFERSON COUNTY at said Foreclosure Sale; said purchase being for the use and benefit of THE STATE OF TEXAS and all political subdivisions whose taxes are assessed and collected by the Assessor-Collector of taxes for Jefferson County, and for all other taxing units which were a part of said Judgment; for a consideration of Six Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($6,000.00) ; THE STATE OF' TEXAS, acting by and through its agent, JEFFERSON COUNTY, does by these presents Quit Claim unto MARY SLAUGHTER, her heirs and assigns forever, all of its interest in that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in Jefferson County, Texas to-wit: Lot THIRTY-FIVE (35) and S. 190.91' of TWENTY SIX (26) , in BEAUMONT IMPROVEMENT COMPANY SUBDIVISION as per map or plat of said addition on file and of record in the office of the County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas. Property more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: COMMENCING at the Northwest corner of Lot 26 of the Beaumont Improvement Coirpany Subdivision; THENCE East with the North line of Lot 26 a distance of 387.9 feet for Point of Beginning; THENCE continuing East with North line of said Lot a. distance of 387.9 feet to stake for corner; THENCE South along the East line of Lot 35 a distance of 561.5 feet to stake for corner; THENCE West along the South line of Lot 35 and Lot 26 a distance of 775.8 feet to stake for corner; THENCE North along the West line of Lot 26 a distance of 190.91 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE East parallel to the South line of Lot 26 a distance of 387.9 feet to a stake for corner; THENCE North along the East line of Lot 26 and West line of Lot 35 a distance of 370.5 feet to POINT OF BEGINNING containing 6.70 acres, more or less. TO HAVE AND To HOLD the above described premises, together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereto in anywise belonging unto the said MARY SLAUGHTER her heirs and assigns forever. But it is distinctly understood and agreed that this conveyance is made and accepted without covenants and warranty of any kind, either express or implied.
