R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, when Interstate 10 was constructed in the
1960 ' s, Farm to Market Highway 364 (Major Drive) was re-routed
between State Highway 124 (Fannett Road) and Interstate 10; and,
WHEREAS, this change resulted in a surplus parcel of
State of Texas-owned right-of-way, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Texas wishes to dispose of said
surplus right-of-way; and,
WHEREAS, City staff has investigated and finds no use for
this property and has no objections to the State' s request;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advise
the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation that the
City of Beaumont has no objection to the disposal of the surplus
parcel of FM 364 right-of-way.
