R E S 0 L U T 1 0 N
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the City Council
to establish a statement of mission for City employees on behalf
of the citizens they serve; and,
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of management to
create a productive environment where values supportive of the
mission flourish; and,
WHEREAS, innovative, courteous, efficient and
convenient customer service is essential to the effective
delivery of all City services; and,
WHEREAS, City Council has expressed a desire, on behalf
of all citizens, that City employees extend courteous, efficient,
and convenient customer service, thus, building a level of
quality, performance and value that will earn the respect and
loyalty of all citizens; and,
WHEREAS, innovative, courteous, efficient and
convenient customer service is an important issue to Beaumont ' s
successful economic recovery and it is, therefore, of primary
importance that City Council and City employees set the example
for the entire community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT there be established a statement of mission, adopted and
incorporated by the employees of the City of Beaumont, to be
known as "Citizen Friendly".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that "Citizen Friendly" be
undergirded by the delivery and inter-relationships of service by
employees and focus on the individual commitment by employees of
the City of Beaumont to perform at the highest standard for
innovative, courteous, efficient and convenient customer service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby
directs the City Manager to insure that the "Citizen Friendly"
mission statement is incorporated into the actions and
performance of every employee and encourage that an overriding
condition of performance during the budget preparation each year
include an evaluation of the effect of this statement and a
review of each department' s "Citizen Friendly" programs to be
implemented.
