R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, on June 20 , 1988, bids were received for the
purchase of automated refuse trucks; and,
WHEREAS, Smart' s Truck and Trailer Equipment, Inc. of
Beaumont, Texas submitted a bid in the amount of $96,443.88 per
truck for the purchase of eight (8) trucks with an option to
purchase three (3) additional trucks at the same price within
ninety ( 90 ) days; and,
WHEREAS the city desires to purchase ten ( 10 ) trucks at
this time and reserve the option to purchase one (1 ) additional
truck within ninety (90 ) days; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bid submitted by Smart' s Truck and Trailer Equipment, Inc. is the
lowest and best bid submitted and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Smart' s Truck and Trailer Equipment,
Inc. be accepted by the City of Beaumont in the amount of
$96 ,443.88 per truck for the purchase of ten ( 10 ) automated
refuse trucks, and the city reserves the option, under such bid,
to purchase one (1 ) additional truck within ninety ( 90 ) days.
